Come Hear NC Music Day

On June 21, 2024, Governor Roy Cooper established the North Carolina Music Office by executive order, marking a major milestone for music in our state. The announcement was part of a World Music Day celebration at the Executive Mansion, hosted by the NC Arts Council.

To kick things off, 13 counties across North Carolina joined in with performances in parks and plazas, surprise pop-up concerts, music education events, and neighbors jamming together on porches.

Now, we're turning up the volume.

Join us on June 21, 2025, for Come Hear NC Music Day, a statewide celebration of North Carolina’s rich musical legacy, diverse talent, and vibrant sound. Whether you're performing, teaching, listening, or just tapping your foot, there’s a place for you in the music.
