North Carolina's Ballad Singers Invite You to Celebrate CHNC Music Day
Join us as we celebrate World Music Day on the summer solstice, June 21, 2025, with Come Hear NC Music Day! World Music Day is the global day of music where everyone is encouraged to make music—on the street, in parks, in venues, on porches…wherever you are moved to do so! Music is the great unifier and our shared common language. Let’s come together and celebrate the joyful sound of music in North Carolina.
Come Hear NC Music Day celebrates and encourages the natural music maker in all of us.
Share music-making wherever you are that day, and be sure to tag us at #CHNCMusicDay to be entered to win a Come Hear NC swag bag complete with a CHNC tote, t-shirt, trucker hat, and more!
Make Music Day originated in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique, and since then, it has spread to thousands of cities across 120 countries.
Last year, it was the first time the event had been celebrated across North Carolina, with 13 counties participating through live music performances that engaged 800 artists and over 9,000 community members (from North Carolina and neighboring states). It was also when the NEW North Carolina Music Office was born!
In addition to the many artists and community members joining in on the celebration June 21 on social media, there are several county arts councils participating again this year with events and programs throughout the day including Stanly County, Vance County, and the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County. Check your local community calendars for music in your area!
