The Scruggs Center boosts an exhibited detailing the artist's life and his impact on bluegrass. It also is home to a collage created by Bernie Taupin, Elton John's legendary writing partner, dedicated to Scruggs and the history of bluegrass.

Iconic country artist and noted songwriter, Don Gibson, also has a space dedicated to his impact and memory in Shelby. The Don Gibson Theatre is a 400-seat intimate theatre and music venue that welcomes nationally touring acts throughout the year.

Shelby continues to make music with many contemporary artists calling it home including award-winning gospel and bluegrass artists, Brooke and Darin Aldridge.
